New Site is Up

As I've previously mentioned, I'm launching two new sites. One to continue on my love of all things Grey Wolves & Quinn Loftis and the other to support/review other books/authors.

The first of the two sites is up and running. There are still a few things to get moved over, but the majority of it has been copied over and I can now go back to breaking down PoW.

So please come over to Grey Wolves Series and keep up with me over there.

I should have my other page up within the next week - but until then book/author promotions and reviews will continue here.

Blog Tour: Beyond The Veil

Beyond the Veil by: Quinn Loftis

42

Overview:
Though the Serbian pack has been brought to heel thanks to the downfall of their Alpha, the war is far from over. Desdemona, a witch of unfathomable power, has escaped the wolves’ wrath, but she will not go quietly into the night. She takes refuge in a place where even the smallest sliver of light does not dare to enter. Though she had to flee, she has not given up on the treasure she wishes to acquire. Her depravity knows no bounds; she's even willing to search for the one who can assist her in opening a Veil that has not been opened in millennia – with good reason: the danger is incalculable. Meanwhile, there are major changes rippling through the Romanian Grey wolves. Decebel has become Alpha to the Serbian pack in an effort to begin to unite the Canis lupis species. Their numbers are dwindling in the wake of the shortage of true mates and lack of offspring. The wolves are beginning to lose faith and darkness seems to be crashing in on them from all sides.

Cover Reveal:Hale Maree by Misty Provencher

Title: Hale Maree
Author: Misty Provencher
Publisher: Indie Published
Release Date: November 19, 2012

Hale Maree:

Hale Simmons dreams of climbing out of her impoverished life, going to college, and getting herself a titanium crash helmet, so she can eventually bust through the Plexiglas ceiling of her crappy life. But for now, she’s just a 17-year-old girl with a flimsy hope, barely getting by with her alcoholic father, Jerry. But for Hale, ‘crappy’ suddenly takes a nosedive, when Jerry becomes the sole witness to a horrible accident. It is an event which means to effect everyone, especially Hale, who wasn’t even involved. While the depth of the accident has just begun to unfold, Otto Maree, a prominent business man and old family friend, stands to lose everything because of it. Otto is desperate for Hale’s father to stay quiet about what occurred the night the two men met for a drink. Out of mutual moments of desperation, the two fathers forge a deal. Jerry is desperate to gain financial stability for both himself and Hale, and Otto Maree is more than willing to pay to keep his secret just that. But deals like this need to be made of the strongest vows and bound with the most faithful of loyalties. Otto proposes a marriage between Hale and his playboy-son, Oscar, in order to assure that the secret remains ‘in the family’. The mystery surrounding the accident continues to grow and Hale struggles against her own mysterious feelings that begin to develop for Oscar, who turns out to less of a playboy, but just as fiercely loyal and dedicated as his father. As the pressures around her continues to escalate, Hale realizes that she’s got to decide if this arranged marriage is really just a big mistake or an amazing twist of fate, that has been waiting around for this particular accident to happen.

Wednesday's What I've Read - Exiled by M.R. Merrick

Title: Exiled (The Protector #1)
Author:  M.R. Merrick (Goodreads Author)
Pub Date:  June 28, 2011
Publisher: M.R. Merrick
Genre: Paranormal/Fantasy
Format: eBook (265 Pages)

Chase Williams is a demon hunter in the Circle, or at least he was supposed to be. On his fifteenth birthday, Chase stepped up to the altar to claim his elemental power, but it never came. Elemental magic is passed down to a hunter through the bloodline, but on Chase's birthday, the bloodline stopped.

Exiled without the Circle's protection, Chase has spent two years trying to survive a world riddled with half-demons and magic. When he has a run in with a frightened and seemingly innocent demon, he learns the Circle's agenda has changed: the Circle plans to unlock a portal and unleash pure-blood demons into the world. Vowing to stop them, and knowing he can't do it alone, Chase forms a reluctant alliance with Rayna — a sexy witch with an attitude and a secret.

In their attempt to stop them, Chase and Rayna find themselves in the middle of the Circle's plan, leaving one of them to decide what their friendship is worth, and the other's life depending on it.

My Thoughts:

5 out of 5 paws

This is a hard book to review, not because I didn't like it, far from it. It is hard to review because I am concerned about giving too much away without simply just rewriting the synopsis.

This book captured my attention quickly, and kept it. The characters are well developed, the story line rarely lags, and I truly enjoyed the author's writing style.

There is a little something for just about everyone in this book. You have mystery, adventure, a little history (albeit for a fictitious world), and even maybe a little hint of a romance. The story ends nicely setting up for book 2, Shift, which I will be reading soon.

I would definitely recommend getting to know Chase Williams, so read the book.
